Tuesday May 26 is National Sorry Day.
Each year on May 26, we acknowledge the Stolen Generations: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families, communities and cultures under past government policies. We honour their strength, resilience and survival, and we stand with survivors and their families today.
2026 marks the 29th anniversary of the tabling of the Bringing Them Home report. Its theme, From Sorry to Action, is a reminder that words alone are not enough. Many of the report's recommendations remain unactioned, and time is running out for survivors to see justice within their lifetimes.
At PBS 106.7FM we believe in the power of truth-telling, and in amplifying the voices of First Nations communities. Today we reflect, we listen, and we commit to doing more.
