PBS has spent nearly 50 years curating, championing and amplifying otherwise under-represented music. Across more than 80 specialist programs each week, volunteer announcers bring deep knowledge of the genres, artists and communities they represent, seeking out and sharing sounds from Australia and around the world and building communities around a shared love of music.

PBS is asking you to consider making a donation this AusArt Day, Thursday 22 October, 2026.

On AusArt Day 2026, PBS will draw on its programming and content to put Australian music in the spotlight, sharing the music, artists and stories that demonstrate how specialist curation helps audiences discover Australian music.

Funds raised through AusArt Day will support PBS’ work, including its ongoing commitment to identifying and championing emerging, independent and othewise underrepresented Australian artists.

Research shows that when Australian music reaches audiences, its impact extends beyond the broadcast. Listeners seek out the music they hear, share their discoveries, attend live shows and buy music and merchandise, supporting artists economically while participating in the communities that grow around music and create connection, belonging and a richer cultural life.

PBS warmly invites you to help us Turn It Up! for Australian music. To learn more and show your support, please visit our Philanthropy page.

AusArt Day is a national initiative designed by Creative Australia to support and enable a collective action by artists and arts organisations to fundraise on one national day – increasing the visibility of arts philanthropy and encouraging greater generosity in support of the arts.
