This week's PBS Feature Album is the tribute album to Australian rock'n'roll cult hero and underground icon Spencer P Jones titled ALL THE WAY WITH SPJ Vol. 1.

Spencer P Jones was a stalwart of the Australian music scene. A renowned guitarist and singer-songwriter, Spencer was known for his work with Beasts of Bourbon, the Johnnys, as well as for his solo releases. When he wasn't creating and making music of his own, Spencer worked with some of Australia’s biggest names, including Paul Kelly (those are Spencer’s guitar licks on ‘How To Make Gravy’) and Renée Geyer. He was also well known on the international scene performing with several international acts including, most famously, the Gun Club.

Sadly, Spencer passed away in August 2018 and this album pays tribute to the immense contribution he made to the music community. On ALL THE WAY WITH SPJ Vol. 1 there are some significant international inclusions such as the Violent Femmes, Kid Congo and great American singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo. From Australia there are friends and fans including Adalita, Chris Baily (The Saints), Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil), The Drones, Claire Birchall, Hoss and more. For the full track list head to bandcamp here.

ALL THE WAY WITH SPJ Vol. 1 is out now via Beast Records and Spooky Records.  All proceeds from the Bandcamp download go to Support Act (Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music) as was Spencer's wish.

Tune into PBS all week for your chance to win a copy of the album. Not a PBS member? Sign up now for your chance to win.
