Marysville Music Weekend has brought the best of Americana, blues and folk artists to the picturesque mountain town of Marysville since 2015 and returns this year from November 24-26. Tickets are on sale now.

Festival organisers are delighted to announce that Australian music queen Kate Ceberano and psych-folk storyteller William Crighton will be heading the line-up for the 2023 event, with something for everyone this year in a series of featured concerts over the weekend.

Strathbogie Forest on Taungurung land, in North East Victoria is an old growth forest and home to the endangered greater glider, powerful owl, and many more species of flora and fauna. The forest has been under threat from loggers for some time, and community organisation Save Our Strathbogie Forest stopped logging and established protection for the site a few years ago.

14 Killer Bullets from the Spaghetti West (Vol.2) showcases a track list of classic Spaghetti Western soundtrack music that has been reimagined, rearranged and carefully reorchestrated. Unlike their entirely instrumental Volume 1 LP, The Counterfeit have Freya Josephine Hollick riding in the posse for 5 tracks on the Vol.2 record, delivering a romantic backdrop for the perfect cinematic showdown.

MPAVILION OPENS TADAO ANDO-DESIGNED PAVILION, KICKING OFF MILESTONE TENTH YEAR!

Since 2014, the Naomi Milgrom Foundation has commissioned extraordinary architects, artists and designers to create unique pieces for each MPavilion – elevating their careers and enhancing visitor experiences. In celebration of their milestone decade, this year’s MPavilion program will be anchored by 10 creative commissions spanning art, design, fashion, food, literature and music.

This week’s PBS Feature Album is The Reckoning by singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and luthier, Nigel Wearne.

Nigel Wearne saunters after dark in the music of the night, blending blues, jazz and Americana-noir. Hailing from Gunditjmara country in the deep south of Australia, he's a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with diverse influence from Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Rickie Lee Jones. A deep thinker and truth speaker with a penchant for all things peculiar, he sings of human frailty, grace and the cosmos; songwriting that cuts to the bone.

Featuring Ballarat’s most wanted woman Freya Josephine Hollick on vocals, the 10 piece posse interprets iconic themes including The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, Ecstasy of Gold and Django, delivering a romantic backdrop for the perfect cinematic showdown.

This week’s PBS Feature Album is Rivulets by OK EG, aka Lauren Squire and Matthew Wilson. The duo take intrepid recce’s on a Kalahari debut of fathoms-deep techno minimalism and opiated braindance styles. With release titles like Intertidal Zone, Anther, and Prismatic Spring, their ambition to evoke natural worlds is evident. But these tracks aren’t of this planet. Navigating truly alien terrain, Rivulets finds the duo imagining uncharted environments into existence through the medium of analogue hardware.

On Tuesday October 31, Music Victoria revealed the winning artists, venues, festivals and music industry leaders of the 2023 Music Victoria Awards. 

The awards ceremony took place at The Edge, Fed Square and welcomed Kutcha Edwards and Kirsty Rivers as inductees into the Music Victoria Hall Of Fame.

The 2023 Music Victoria Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday October 31 at The Edge, Fed Square.

Music Victoria has also announced that Kutcha Edwards and industry stalwart and previous PBS board member, Kirsty Rivers will be inducted into the Music Victoria Hall of Fame at this year’s ceremony.

The Music Victoria Awards are proudly presented by PBS and Triple R.
