This week’s PBS Feature Album is the self-titled debut release from seven piece soul-funk outfit Steppers.

Representative of their unspoken dialect, Steppers present a body of work that is truly a sonic language communicated in groove and translated through dance. Unhindered by any one mode or method of creation, the six-track album, (recorded at Debasement by Phil Egan), arrives April 18, 2026 with the full weight of their combined experience and musicality.

Led by the beats and vocals of the esteemed Reginald AK, Steppers boldly anchors their ties to the Australian music scene (The Bamboos, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Ausecuma Beats, Bumpy, Kylie Auldist) using Rhodes, Telecaster and a unique strand of bass-driven & horn-laden cadence to solidify their distinctive take on soul, funk & RnB.

Truly the product of their Fitzroyal upbringing, Steppers speak their own language, creating an experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Tune in all this week to hear tracks from Steppers. PBS Members have the chance to win a vinyl copy of the album - simply email your name and membership number to  before midnight Sunday April 19.
