This week's PBS Feature Album is the latest release from Sampa The Great, Nu Zamrock. A deeply personal exploration of her musical and ancestral connections to her home country, Nu Zamrock is bold and spiritually charged.
Returning to Zambia after studying and launching her career in Australia became pivotal in Sampa's artistry. That reconnection with her ancestry and homeland became the heartbeat of Nu Zamrock. Across the album she reimagines Zamrock - that daring fusion of rock, funk, and African rhythm - through her own lens, merging it with hip-hop, poetry, and soul to create Nu Zamrock, bringing it to the forefront of the present moment.
Tune in all this week to hear tracks from Nu Zamrock. PBS Members have the chance to win a copy of the album - simply email your name and membership number to before midnight Sunday November 8.
