This week’s PBS Feature Album is Bad Things Feel Good*, the sophomore album from local musician Rowena Wise. Bad Things Feel Good* is a bold, intimate statement on transformation, tracing the emotional fault lines of love, identity and mental health with unflinching clarity. Across raw, live-band arrangements and candid, poetic lyricism, Wise explores heartbreak, estrangement and the quiet unravelling of selfhood, portraying love as a shifting mosaic of light and shadow where certainty no longer applies.

The album’s title encapsulates its layered tension: the deliberate asterisk hints at an imagined footnote — “Bad things feel good, with the exception of a very long list of things…” — a wry gesture that undercuts the phrase while deepening its meaning. Because, of course, heartache aches and alienation isolates. Yet within that discomfort lies growth, and within growth, a strange beauty. Bad Things Feel Good* captures the addictive intensity of being alive — a record that embraces contradiction and finds power in telling the truth about the messiness of being human.

Tune in all this week to hear tracks from Bad Things Feel Good*. PBS Members have the chance to win a digital and cassette copy of the album - simply email your name and membership number to  before midnight Sunday August 16.
