High Ground is a new live music series celebrating Fitzroy’s legacy of creative independence, underground culture and boundary-pushing music. Running across The Night Cat, The Evelyn and Punters Club from May–August, the inaugural winter program brings together local and international artists spanning post-punk, experimental, jazz, club and contemporary soul.

Highlights include internationally acclaimed post-punk outfit Protomartyr, Senegalese rhythmic pioneers Mark Ernestus & Ndagga Rhythm Force, Japanese audiovisual collective Violent Magic Orchestra, New York experimental group YHWH Nailgun, Naarm favourites Mildlife and Los Angeles R&B artist Jenevieve, alongside a wide-ranging lineup of local artists, DJs and community-led programming.
