This week's PBS Feature Album is Los Ojos del Cóndor by acclaimed Ecuadorian-Swiss brother duo Hermanos Gutiérrez. Described as a "love letter to South America", Estevan and Alejandro Gutiérrez invite listeners to come on a sonic journey with them through the Andes and to foster a curiosity for Latin music culture.
The culture that shaped and continues to shape Hermanos Gutiérrez is rooted not just in their mother’s native Ecuador and great-grandfather’s Peruvian heritage, but also the continent-spanning expanse of the Andean mountain range, the cerulean shores of the Pacific ebbing and flowing on the west coast, the sounds of Argentinean milonga and the Peruvian-Colombian melange of Cumbia and so much more.
Tune in all this week to hear tracks from Los Ojos del Cóndor. PBS Members have the chance to win a copy of the album - simply email your name and membership number to before midnight Sunday October 4.
