UK's Powerplant have come a long way from rocking in the bedroom to playing hard on the world stage, cementing their status with catchy music and striking art from its very beginning. The debut synth-punk album People in the Sun took the internet by storm in 2019, created solely by the band leader Theo Zhykharyev. It captivated the world with eccentric bass lines, fuzzy synthesisers and touching lyrics. It landed on ‘Best of…’ lists by Pitchfork and Bandcamp, receiving nods from Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins.

This week's PBS Feature Album is On Diamond's Melon on the Vine.

The second album from alternative/experimental pop band On Diamond, Melon on the Vine explores themes of time, grief and desire, while centering on the pursuit of connection.

The band’s distinctive sound unfurls with expressive detail, bringing each song’s world to life. Imagery of rotting fruit, crawling mountains, and rogue sheep evoke dysfunction in a dream-like reflection of personal and collective realities.

This week's PBS Feature Album is Turning Yr Back On The Dolphin, the third album by Palm Springs.

Palm Springs is the outsider folk identity of Erica Dunn and an evolving cast of essential collaborators. Born out of a compulsion to write sparse, intimate verse and named for her nervous affliction - sweaty hands - Palm Springs has been a cornerstone of Dunn’s songwriting that sits in a separate interior back room from her other creative outputs (Tropical Fuck Storm, MOD CON, Fiancée, Harmony et al.)
