In 2011, Brunswick will feature performances from spectacular artists who are at the Festival and in Australia for the first time. Highly anticipated performances are: US rockabilly superstar the fabulous Rosie Flores- queen of the rockabilly guitar who will play two shows, a seated show with Australian singer songwriter Suzie Dickinson and a full on rocking show with Johnny Green’s Blues Cowboys; Grammy winning singer and multi instrumentalist in bluegrass Tim O’Brien; US nu- bluegrass stars Crooked Still; English guitar wizard Martin Simpson and Nano Stern who brings his Chilean band to Australia for the first time.

The Cottars - a brilliant young celtic group from Cape Breton make their first trip to Australia while returning to the festival from Ireland we are delighted to have accordionist extraordinaire Alan Kelly Quartet and Celtic guitar star Tony McManus.

On the local side: brilliant indigenous artist Frank Yamma makes his Brunswick debut performing with David Bridie; The Pirates of Beer with Chris Wilson and Sarah Carroll make a rare appearance; Melbourne’s blues and rocking hot shots Ian Collard and Ben Peters will debut their new outfit; the one and only Kavisha Mazzella will launch her long awaited new CD; first time visitors Lolo Lovina, lead by the fabulous singer Sarah Bedak-Rockliffe, bring the music of the Gypsy and Eastern European traditions, The Legends of Steel featuring the Melbourne steel maestros Ed Bates, Rick Dempster, Garrett Costigan and young gun Chris Altmann in his first of two appearances at the Festival, he will also open with his full band for a another Festival debutant Shane Nicholson; the debut performance of The Lovelight Soul Rhythm & Blues Orchestra a 15 piece band featuring vocalists Ella Thompson, Michelle Nicolle, ‘Continental’ Robert Susz and Andy Swann, with an all star 8 piece horn section and twin drummers Ronny Ferella and Andy Swann will rock the Penny Black.
