This month, PBS officially rolls out a revised program schedule. We say farewell to some of our favourite shows, but welcome aboard some great new talent and fresh content for PBS.

Trans Europa Express has wrapped up its final show and in doing so really went out with a bang. Gaby will be back at PBS occasionally to do fill-ins, so she’s not going too far! New announcer Moses Iten will be moving on into the 11am Tuesday morning slot with his show Space is the Place. ‘Space is the Place’ is a global beats program that brings to PBS the most contemporary sounds from around the globe.

Lukie D and the show Everybody Moves takes a break for the 7pm Tuesday night slot. Lukie D has been bringing us great local music for the last few years and has really supported under-represented bands from all over Melbourne on his show. Taking you through the Tuesday evening 7pm–8pm spot now will be Fuchsia with her show The Mix Tape. ‘The Mix Tape’ taps into mix tape culture with an eclectic mix of content that is linked not by genre but by threads and themes drawn from contemporary culture, politics and events.

And finally, we say goodbye to Mike Glover’s Border Crossings after nearly 15 years of being on-air. The brand new program to take its place will be ‘In the Quiet’ which presenter Perry Holt will bring you between 10pm and midnight each Sunday from now on. His music will embrace elements of Border Crossing, while expanding into his own vast areas of musical knowledge – perhaps challenging, and recontextualizing our perceptions of ambient music.

We also welcome another brand new program to the PBS family in November.

Glitter & Doom with Jennifer Kingwell: alternate Friday mornings 2am – 6am. Glitter and Doom is an exploration of cabaret as a musical genre and performance art form, from turn-of-the-century Parisian chanson, to Brechtian art song to contemporary rock 'n' roll and punk cabaret.

Rounding out the changes to the program schedule for November will be a small shift for Mitch Booth and Through the Collapse as he moves from alternate Friday mornings to every second Wednesday morning from 2am.

We wish Gaby, Luke and Mike all the best; while warmly welcoming Jennifer and Perry to the PBS stable and Fuchsia and Mitch to their new on-air home!
