Kicking off the 2011 series is the Aaron Goldberg Trio (USA), making their highly anticipated return to Australia in a double bill with Israeli-born siblings Anat, Avishai and Yuval Cohen as the 3 Cohens Sextet (USA/Israel). Virtuosic drummer Jim Black and his AlasNoAxis (USA), internationally renowned for their captivating exploratory soundscapes, appear alongside the unique Australian/Korean collaboration Chiri – featuring master of the Korean p’ansori technique, Bae Il Dong, and Australian innovators Scott Tinkler and Simon Barker.
