With more than three decades of music making behind them, The Breadmakers are a well known institution in Melbourne. Forming in 1989, they quickly became mainstays on the garage-rock underground circuit and unlikely heroes on the Fitzroy/Collingwood indie scene throughout the 90s. You'll know them from their previous six albums and countless shows including all the usual suspects like Big Day Out and Meredith Music Festival.

Though they have never officially taken a break, The Breadmakers new self-titled album is the band's first since 2008's Night of the Cobra, and their second album in over 20 years. Featuring ten new Breadmaker originals, including raucous toe-tappers like the opener 'Corner of My Eye' and 'Monkey Do', as well as some moodier numbers like 'The Savage' and 'Swamped', the album also breathes live into some old classic covers.

Recorded and mixed by Mikey Young in a beach shack on the cliffs of a Sorrento back beach, Young has captured the immediacy and energy of The Breadmakers' sound like never before.
