This week's feature album comes from Andrea Keller and her band Five Below with the stunning Life is Brut[if]al.
The second album from the renowned pianist and contemporary jazz ensemble, Life is Brut[if]al is a self-released journey through seven provoking and heartfelt musical stories.
In addition to Five Below band members Stephen Magnusson (guitar), Sam Anning (double bass), Mick Meagher (electric bass), James McLean (drums) and Andrea Keller on piano, the exquisite recording features special guests Scott McConnachie (soprano and alto sax), Julien Wilson (tenor, saxophone and bass clarinet), and Jim Keller on vocals.
The result of this ongoing collaboration is a contemporary jazz oeuvre of gentle musical vignettes, intimate stories and meditative composition.
