This week’s PBS Feature Album is Hybrid, the stunning new album from Queen of Soul Kylie Auldist.

As one of Australia’s most unmistakable soul voices, Auldist has built a career on warmth, honesty and groove - and Hybrid finds her at the height of her creative powers. The songs slip effortlessly between soul, modern R&B textures and ‘80s funk, but at the heart of it all, the album is held together by the power and presence of Auldist’s voice. 

This week’s PBS Feature Album is the self-titled debut album from Owelu Dreamhouse.

Owelu Dreamhouse is the collaboration from vocalist Nkechi Anele and arranger and multi-instrumentalist Nic Ryan-Glenie, rekindling the musical relationship they forged in iconic Naarm soul band Saskwatch. Writing and producing together in collaboration with old and new friends, Nkechi and Nic’s body of work is a sonic blend of cinematic soul, psychedelia, and Afrobeat, weaving through the complexities of cultural ties, gender, and identities across generations. 

Originally formed in Kaurna/Adelaide, the now Naarm/Melbourne-based outfit No News is a genre-blurring, two-piece band blending live jazz with house and breakbeat energy. 

Following two recent standout sets at Sonder Festival and Strawberry Fields last year, No News are now gearing up for their biggest headline show to date at the Night Cat on February 7.
