This week’s PBS Feature Album is Please, the latest release from Berlin-based DJ Plead.

A lot can happen in a few years. For DJ Plead's Jarred Beeler that means making a whole new album, throwing it away, then releasing something else entirely. Gleaned from a folder of 120 demos and sketches made between 2023 and 2025, Please is a cool composite of the Lebanese-Australian producer's distinctive musical palette blending the techno, house, and dub of the club with the dabke, mijwiz and shaabi keys of a Levantine dancing circle.

Blending downtempo electronica, breaks and live instrumentation, new project Tony Soprano Band released their debut album Downtempo 1 on May 22 via Dune Castle.

Downtempo 1 sits at the intersection of live band interplay and downtempo electronic music. 
Drawing from the language of breaks, sampling and loop-based composition, every sound on the 
record originates from live performance. Drums, bass, synthesizers and hardware elements were 
performed simultaneously, with no fixed arrangements or predetermined outcomes.
