The City of Ballarat’s live music program, Be Hear Now has been developing and supporting musicians by providing a framework to celebrate the skills and talents of our community and helping give them the tools to refine their craft.

PBS is saddened to learn of the passing of Broderick Smith earlier this week.

This week's PBS Feature Album is Variables by Alfa Mist, the highly anticipated new album and second release via Anti-. The East London artist, producer and label founder achieves his most fully-realised, expressive musical work to date, coupling his keen ear for looping, memorably emotive piano melodies with intuitive grooves and a free-flowing jazz improvisation. 

This year's line up features sets from Cosmic Psychos, Close Counters, Gut Health, Our Carlson, The Merindas, Teeny Tiny Stevies and MzRizk.

Studio 5 Live's are back in action and with that, PBS presented another session from our new home in Collingwood Yards, with local supergroup The Silversound.

This week's PBS Feature Album is Acid Ocean by Moody Beaches, a potent 10-track serve of harmony-driven and brooding, fuzzed-out anthems.

Over the 2023 Labour Day long weekend, thousands of music lovers descended on Port Fairy for the annual Port Fairy Folk Festival. This year’s event featured a very special concert – The Juke Joint, Live on Stage.  For two hours Matt Frederick presented his long-running PBS blues show to a packed house at the Pyipgil Gundidj stage, and introduced live sets from Early James, Blue Moon Marquee and Fiona Boyes (pictured).
