Program Information
Dry Run
Dry Run is a weekly two-hour program examining the breadth of ambient and experimental sound practices. The show focuses on the formal and material dimensions of the genre, drawing from industrial audio practices, environmentalism, minimal processes, field recordings, electroacoustic methods, site-specific works and system-driven structures.
Across episodes, the permeability of ambience is foregrounded via adjacent traditions (including dub, electronica, classical, spoken word, chamber compositions, ragas, folk practices and spiritual jazz) in order to situate the genre within a wider history of experimental listening.
Dry Run recognises the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which the program is produced, and pays respect to their Elders past and present.
