... Oh dear, its that time of year again! Here’s your official invite to come and join the festivities of the 3rd Annual Upstairs at the Napier’s Christmas Card Auction. This year the bigger, better artists from Upstairs at The Napier are taking the party to the streets. Well known and emerging artists are set to join together with the community of Fitzroy and beyond to create a spectacular day in the spirit of giving and Christmas.

Each artist will donate an original, one off Christmas card creation to be auctioned off to raise money for charity. The donated cards are curated to form a wondrous exhibition of many different styles and media, depicting a variation on the theme of Christmas. Funds raised will be directed to The Fitzroy Learning Network. This organisation provides education services, support and advocacy assistance for disadvantaged members of the community, including newly arrived refugees and migrants.

There will be face painting, drag queens and BBQs, not to mention original artworks donated by some of Melbourne's amazingly talented artists. Also this year as a second exciting addition to the program, I SPY, an installation by James Lewis will deliver an autobiographical account of daily exchanges by a young photographer with Down Syndrome.

Santa will be busting out the moves to live music and the now famous Artists Choir will be making a return appearance by popular demand, for better or worse, to bring some extra calamity to the day! Come along for an action packed day that the whole family will enjoy but be warned - have on your best bidding boots and a competitive merry spirit, because these are no ordinary XMAS cards.

All proceeds go to the Fitzroy Learning Network.
