Turtle Skull Studio 5 Live

Studio 5 Live

Hard Heavy
Studio 5 Live

Since forming in 2017, Northern NSW-based heavy psych rockers Turtle Skull have been carving their own niche with crushing riffs, stacked vocal harmonies and dense synthscapes that hit like a lightning bolt wrapped in a velvet curtain. They’ve built a cult following on the back of explosive live sets and records that cater for the deep listener. Their latest offering, Being Here, dives into the liminal space between joy and oblivion - urging you not to escape, but to arrive.

Tracked live at NoWave in Mullumbimby, with a paired-back approach to studio tweaking, Being Here is the band’s most visceral work to date. It’s an expansive yet raw offering that canvasses the light and shade of modern life in all of its ecstatic and terrifying glory. A psych-drenched reminder to look up from your doomscroll and feel something.

Being Here debuted at #11 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Albums chart, #5 on the AIR Independent Label Albums chart, and #4 on the Doom Charts. The album’s success builds off their last offering, 2020’s Monoliths, which sold out and garnered attention from local and international music media, including NME.

Turtle Skull have left scorch marks on festival stages at The Gumball and Camp A Low Hum (NZ) and have sold out headline shows at venues across the Australian east coast.

Taking Being Here on the road to celebrate its release, Turtle Skull stop by Pojama People for an intimate Studio 5 Live session. Tune in on Tuesday September 9 from 8pm to hear this exclusive set and interview with Chris Pearson.
