Widely recognised as one of the country's leading jazz festivals, Stonnington Jazz is celebrating its 6th year and the 2011 program is sure to please music lovers across the city.

For 10 days, music lovers will descend on some of Stonnington's most iconic venues transformed into intimate jazz settings to enjoy a spectrum of styles the jazz genre encompasses.

This year's program will feature more than 20 concerts, with performances at the Malvern Town Hall, Chapel Off Chapel and a range of other venues.

In 2011 Stonnington Jazz presents some of Australia's great established jazz talents including Vince Jones, Joe Chindamo, Allan Browne, Bob Sedergreen, Paul Grabowsky and Paul Williamson each doing something different and special for their festival appearances.

In addition to the many well-known names, Stonnington Jazz has developed a reputation for giving newer artists the opportunity to perform and raise their profiles. This year we are pleased to present some relatively young artists who are in the process of developing their careers and reputations including Sarah McKenzie, Nat Bartsch and Eamon McNelis.

In 2011 Stonnington Jazz Festival also invite you to enjoy the talent of artists who have been working at a high level for quite a few years but who may not be as well-known as their talents should deserve. Some of these excellent artists include veteran Dave MacRae, and mid-career artists including Ian Chaplin, Andrew Robson, Stu Hunter and Andy Sugg.
