Hip Hop veteran Pharoahe Monch showcases his new album W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) alongside Jean Grae, in a not to be missed national tour of Australia this November.

W.A.R features the debut single ´Shine´, produced by Diamond D and featuring Mela Machinko. It will be released through Pharoahe's new company W.A.R. Media, in association with Duck Down Music.

The album is said to be a "throwback to 1993 - 1994 hip-hop", and features production by Black Milk, Mr Porter, Lee Stone & M-Phazes. A ten year anniversary re-issue of ´Internal Affairs´ will also be released featuring a documentary about the making of the album.

Says Pharoahe Monch in an interview with Spinner: "It's been said that it's my best album today. It's the most cohesive album. It's a call to writers, artists, poets, even 9-5 people who think off the beaten path.
It's a call and a warning to them to how the mindset is targeted and obviously the powers that be don't want thinking individuals with opinions and ideas to be the big percentage of our population. So, I feel like when you are different and you come up with ideas that are creative, you're kind of looked at as crazy. There's an attack on that. So, this war is an attack on that, a war against the industry, war against the machine, war against the authority, war within ourselves to not have fear and to express in that
manner. It's an acronym for We Are Renegades."

Appearing exclusively with Pharoahe on this tour is fellow rap phenomenon Jean Grae, who will be releasing her new album Cake Or Death via Talib Kweli’s Blacksmith record label this winter. The talented lyricist has recorded tracks with numerous major hip hop artists such as Atmosphere, The Roots, Talib Kweli and The Herbaliser to name a few.

Each artist will perform a full set in what promises to be a once in a lifetime chance to see two of rap´s most gifted MCs on the same stage.

Also supporting at some of the shows are Percee P (Stones Throw) from New York, and Melbourne's own M-Phazes.
