Northcote Social Club is turning 20 and PBS is getting in on the celebrations. Join us for a night of dark synths on Thursday August 28, 2025 featuring live sets from The Night Terrors, Vacuum, Claire Birchall and Full Fleshed . Tickets are only $25+bf, or $20+bf if you're a PBS Member. Available now from northcotesocialclub.com.
Last year, The Night Terrors celebrated 10 years with a darkly ethereal new album, Hypnotica. Featuring Miles Brown on haunting theremin melodies, and Sarah Lim blasting danceable darkness on vintage synthesisers, they’ve built a reputation as one of the country’s most original acts. A band capable of unleashing thunderous dreamscapes, otherworldly electronica and horror-synth fantasies on all who dare to delve. See the band roar through material from all their albums with special guest Mitch McGregor (Split System) on live drums.
Since 2013, Jenny Branagan (NUN) and Andrea Blake (ASPS/Chrome Dome) have been
collaborating as VACUUM. Fortifying dance-floors at punk shows and techno clubs alike, they experiment with disturbing but danceable frequencies. VACUUM's debut self-titled LP was a PBS Feature Album in 2022. Watch them perform as part of 2015's Drive Live.
Claire Birchall performs in solo mode, creating lush, otherworldly sonic soundscapes. Her 2024 LP, The Haunting, was a favourite across multiple shows here at PBS. And opening the night is future darkwave duo, Full Fleshed!
From our mates at NSC: "To celebrate two decades, we’re rolling out 20 Gigs for 20 Years — a huge birthday series running through July and August, stacked with some of our all-time favourites.
"One of the standout events? The PBS Radio Party. We’ve had a long-standing and vibrant relationship with PBS Community Radio for who knows how long, and we’re beyond excited to partner with them once again for a night packed with local talent. Over the years, PBS has been a cornerstone of Melbourne’s music scene, supporting emerging artists and connecting the community through music. This party is our way of celebrating that incredible partnership and spotlighting some of the city’s best and brightest on the rise!"
"Come raise a glass and help us celebrate 20 years of great gigs and good yarns at NSC — we wouldn’t want to do it without you!"
THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+
