The Meanies have always been outlandishly funny - this never stood in the way of their musical talent as Australia's punk-rock stalwarts. As longstanding PBS favourites, they have visited the station in various capacities over the years, always bringing their special brand of high energy wit and humour to the airwaves. You can hear this in their early sessions on PBS, like their 2007 Studio 5 Live session, which represents the band’s original energy, playful on-stage banter, sharp wit and even sharper riffs. You can hear this again on their Drive Live 2013 performance, when they played a killer set to a very excited live audience.

Once again, you will be able to experience what this intoxicating band can deliver when we broadcast our next Studio 5 presentation - a recent session that they recorded with our friends at MUUZOstream, Channel 31’s live music program.

Tune in to Shock Treatment on Wednesday September 28 to hear The Meanies evoking the sounds that cemented them as an iconic fixture in the annals of Australian music over 30 years ago.

Studio 5 Live is proudly presented by Mountain Goat.
