Sat 5 Jul 2025 to Sat 30 Aug 2025

West Space presents Rockpools, a new exhibition by Yindjibarndi artist Katie West, July 5 to August 30, 2025.

Working from Noongar Ballardong Country in Western Australia, West’s practice is defined by experiments in a ‘custodial ethic’, grounded in the understanding that the health of human society and Country mirror one another.

Realised across photography, installation and sound transmitted via radio, Rockpools examines the entanglement of industry and Aboriginal kinships through the artists' position as a Stolen Generations descendant, reconnecting with Country and practicing custodianship through creative practice.

Katie West: Rockpools is presented as part of National NAIDOC Week 2025, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision, Legacy.

West Space is open Wednesday to Friday, 11am to 6pm. and Saturday 12 to 4pm. Entry is free, everyone is welcome. For more information, head to westspace.org.au/program/rockpools-katie-west.
