For the first time ever, New York Night Train’s Jonathan Toubin will bring his fun-as-hell vintage bashes to Australia.

Toubin will be making dance floor life a lot spicier, with his maximum rock and soul sets which have taken him from underground New York venues to some of the most prestigious festivals around the world, sharing stages alongside the likes of The Black Keys, Erykah Badu, Jack White and Interpol.

He’s a vinyl junkie in the best sense; spinning unique and rare 1960s soul 45s exclusively, yet comes off as cool and unpretentious. Toubin has been changing the world, with one wild 45rpm banger at a time.

In just six years, Toubin has charted a career that is culturally and commercially unparalleled. Conceiving Soul Clap & Dance-Off in 2007, as an outlet to play his soul 45s to a small Brooklyn underground society, Toubin used the parties as a weapon against tired hit nights, 80s nights and other mediocre dance parties. His visionary take on nightlife and an obsessively curated collection of 45s, has left a gigantic footprint on contemporary urban nightlife, selling out clubs not only in New York, but across the world.

His career came to a crashing halt in 2011, whilst on tour in Portland, OR. Toubin was spending a rare night in, when a runaway cab flew through his first-floor hotel room, landing on his chest. After a month in a life threatening and sedated condition in ICU, the soul master’s friends and fans rallied around him, throwing dozens of benefits right across North America, benefits featuring everyone from Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Ariel Pink, to Margaret Cho. After many operations and months of physical therapy, New York Night Train’s conductor proved that he would not let 26 major injuries bring him down – making his public debut as the surprise DJ for Jack White’s show at Webster Hall in April, 2012 (less than five months after the accident!)

Toubin has since recovered from his tragic accident and is ready to bring America’s most popular soul party back to life!

Don’t miss the extra-exceptional, explosive, and exquisite 1960s soul 45s of globe-trotting, New York DJ, Mr Jonathan Toubin!
