History:

The Jamaican Music & Food Festival in 2016 was the first of its kind in Australia, transcending cultural barriers and promote awareness in the way that only reggae music can. The festival brings the spirit of contemporary music culture in Victoria to an even wider audience in one huge, vibrant family-friendly celebration. It places Victorian home-fostered talent on a world stage with Montreal Reggae Festival, Jazz Reggae Fest (California), One Love Peace Festival (Greater London), Sumfest (Montego Bay), Upsala (Sweden), Reggae Summerjam (Cologne) and many more. It celebrates the shared roots and the many contributions that arise from global migration. We say ‘Out of Many, One People’ and invite music fans of all nationalities that share an interest in music and culture to come and rejoice. The festival celebrates the positive contributions of women to our music and culture with a dedicated Reggae Queens Domain.
