After more than 10 years on air every Sunday evening Ross has decided that the time has come to step down from this weekly program, and to give someone else the great opportunity of doing a regular show on PBS. This is typical of Ross’ generosity and commitment to the next generation of PBS broadcasters.
Every week Ross makes time to prepare and present interviews with local jazz musicians, and has always sought to support the local scene by including information about gigs, tours and new releases. He’s a regular at The Jazzlab and other Melbourne jazz clubs and every year can be seen at countless concerts for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Stonnington Jazz and the Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival. Prior to PBS, Ross presented jazz shows on community radio in Queensland where he also coordinated a significant jazz festival. His commitment to jazz and to community radio stretches back more than 20 years and his contribution has been exceptional.
Ross will present his final Impressions at 7pm on Sunday October 10.
