Mon 6 Feb 2017 to Fri 10 Feb 2017

Each year as Melbourne summer reaches its peak, PBS 106.7FM throws a week-long party to celebrate live music. It’s our loudest, most jam-packed week of the year and we want you to be part of it.

We’re thrilled to announce our annual live-to-air extravaganza Drive Live – five afternoons in a row of live music taking over the airwaves during our Drive programs in early February.

Monday February 6th to Friday the 10th from 5pm until 7pm, catch some of your favourite Melbourne artists performing live at our Collingwood studios. As usual the line-up speaks for itself.

We named their album Joy the best release of last year, and now The Peep Tempel are fangin’ it down to PBS to blow the ceiling off our studios. Joining them will be spine-tingling country rock’n’rollers Cash Savage & The Last Drinks hot off their European tour; the powerful voice of Laura Jean will share with us her piercing, intimate songwriting; we’ll hear guttural rhythms and stratospheric melodies courtesy of solo keys-genius Corin; and we’ll have the rockin, rollin’, hard partying Miss Destiny.

If that’s not enough: high-octane, lysergic, nitrous sucking rock ‘n’ roll beast The Dacios; glow wave, synth punk trio Hi-Tec Emotions; and garage-pop outfit The Pink Tiles will dazzle us with their sonic fidelity, compositional mastery. We’ll go into a daze with the dark, experimental electronic sounds of Karli White; the melodic jaunt and post-punk swagger of Amyl & The Sniffers; bone-rattling post-punk outfit No Sister; RVG will deliver a collection of big pop songs about love, aliens, computers and capital punishment; infectious eclectic pop with honest lyricism from Gabriella Cohen; the hard rock, slack prog sounds of ORB; and the almighty duo ruling the ocean with their venereal garage rock, Shrimpwitch.

Music lovers will be welcomed to PBS HQ to catch the performances live and in person. PBS members get a free Mountain Goat and everyone gets a fair whack of radio to watch.

To get your name on the door, send an email to events@pbsfm.org.au with the subject line: NIGHT (Monday, Tuesday etc) YOUR NAME, and MEMBER NUMBER (if applicable). Drive Live is free and open to everyone but capacity is limited, so get on to it now.
