As part of PBS’ celebration of NAIDOC Week 2021, we turn back to March 2020. It was an early Wednesday morning when Yalanji songwoman Deline Briscoe arrived with her band to record the last Studio 5 Live session before Melbourne was plunged into lockdown. It's become apparent that after continuing restrictions and our station now being in the middle of moving to Collingwood Yards, this was to be the last session ever recorded in PBS' Easey Street Studio 5.

Fusing Wungkabadi (Yalanji traditional singing) with jazz, hip-hop and soul, Deline Briscoe delivered four gorgeous songs live on Roots of Rhythm. Deline is a favourite among many PBS announcers and Susi Lanagan of What The Folk! is no exception.

Watch Deline perform 'Need Your Love' from Studio 5.

Tune in to What The Folk! from 9am on Thursday July 8 to hear the whole thing and head here to read Deline's recent Wuigada interview and top 10 with PBS.
