Join APY Gallery at Collingwood Yards this NAIDOC Week for an artist-run ceramics workshop with Ngarrindjeri artist Tiarnie Edwards, taking place from 1pm - 4pm on Saturday July 11. Get tickets here.
Following the workshop, Tiarnie will guide you through decorating two of your own ceramic plates. After the workshop, you're welcome to stick around for refreshments in the Collingwood Yards courtyard.
This event will give participants the unique opportunity to engage in conversation and learn ceramic techniques from a renowned First Nations artist, and give space to meet new creatives in the lively setting of Collingwood Yards.
Please note, ceramic plates will be collected from the gallery at a later date, once they have been fired.

About the Artist:
Tiarnie has a Bachelor in Contemporary Arts and was the recipient of the University of South Australia’s Aboriginal Pathway Program DUX Award 2020. Tiranie is a practicing artist; Indigenous Knowledge being at the core of their own budding practice as a Ngarrindjeri illustrator and ceramicist. Tiarnie is committed to being immersed within the artistic community particularly the importance of care when it comes to the ethical consumption of Indigenous art and respect of artists.
Tiarnie is an exhibiting artist and the recipient of several grants and early career artists prizes including the Australian Ceramics Association Prize 2023. Tiarnie has also worked in administrative and support roles in art studios in Adelaide, which has given them the opportunity to be part of supporting the practice and careers of other Indigenous artists, which is also long held professional goal.
Detail oriented, Tiarnie is looking to provide dedicated services in the art industry, utilising skills as an emerging Indigenous artist to grow Indigenous based practices, and community work. Follow Tiarnie on Instagram.
