Always Open Must Close

This week overnight listeners will get to hear the very last episode of Always Open as your senior sales consultant Benjamin Chesler takes you through the shopping mall of vapourwave for one last time. Regular fans will know that Ben brings something completely unique to the radio airwaves, and his on-air persona has developed significantly since he first joined the PBS roster in 2023 as a junior sales representative. If this makes no sense, then perhaps it’s time you typed ‘vapourwave’ into a search engine, or better still just tune in to the final episode of Always Open before it’s going, going, gone.

Here at PBS we’ll miss Ben very much and frankly we’re not going to have anything quite like his idiosyncratic radio show. We can’t thank Ben enough for his contribution, and we’re delighted to know that he’s winding up his PBS commitments to free-up more time to spend advocating for better public policy, and to help make the world a better place.

In coming days we’ll announce a brand new show for the fortnightly Friday morning insomnia slot, but for the time-being we’ll just say a very fond farewell to Benjamin as he checks out one last time this Friday July 17 from 2am - 6am. Tune in here.
