Only at the African Music and Cultural Festival (AMCF) will you see over 35 African countries and community organisations represented through music, food, fashion, dance, art and culture right in the heart of Melbourne.

Victorians and visitors are invited to take a journey to the rich continent of Africa at this FREE, inclusive grassroots event. In its fifth year, AMCF is now a firm fixture on the Melbourne event's calendar. It is the largest festival of its kind in Australia, delivering non-stop entertainment for the whole family; from kid's entertainment including face painting, jumping castles, mascots and balloonist; to dance, fashion, drumming lessons, arts, spoken work, along with authentic mouth-watering African street food.

Head to Federation Square on Saturday December 8 for 12 hours of non-stop entertainment from 10am to 10pm. With the rhythms, sounds and tastes of Africa spread throughout Federation Square and the River Terrace, the atmosphere is electric and guaranteed to make you feel good.

AMCF promotes cross cultural awareness, mutual respect, understanding and unity, whilst providing locals and visitors with a unique opportunity to experience and celebrate Africa's diversity. The festival also pays respect to our traditional elders the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation with a traditional smoking ceremony to officially open the event.
