Simona Castricum is a singer/songwriter, DJ & transgender femme from Melbourne, Australia. Her career spans 15 years and six albums through various guises including Fluorescent, Ana Nicole. Simona was the creator of queer music label Girls Who Smoke Poke and now releases through Melbourne's LISTEN Records. Her latest album #TriggerWarning40 is her third solo album. Selfdescribed as brutal triumphant stadium techno pop with biographical tales that reveal a unique account of transgender identity. Simona’s live performances are onewoman rave events a visceral combination of cardio and electronic percussion delivered from a cloud of smoke haze and laser beams.

As a dj, Simona Castricum’s mix of minimal techno, underground house and new beat dance genres create a dark, sexual and physical dance floor experience. Her club night The Shock of the New ran for 5 years and consolidated her as one of Melbourne’s leading queer underground djs. Since the late 90s she has jacked Melbourne dancefloors for Novel, Cool Room, THUMP, Trough, John, Club Esc, Flawless, Danceteria, Fantastic, Sinthetic, Meccanoid, Honky Tonks and Q&A. Her events in Sydney include Monstagras, Loose Ends and House Of Mince.
