Industry leaders, professionals and music passionates from around the world will come together at the Abbotsford Convent for two glorious days in July for CHANGES Festival, a music summit investigating the future of local and international music.
With a program choc full of MUSIC, TECH, TALKS and IDEAS, PBS is pleased to present a workshop aimed at sharing our bountiful interviewing tips and techniques.
Join interview masters, Maddy MacFarlane and Rick Howe to learn everything from interview organising and press releases, through to promotion and actually doing the interview!
Maddy Mac has presented her PBS show Homebrew for over a decade with a focus on showcasing and supporting homegrown and independent bands. She's passionate about community, radio and community radio and has been involved in many projects supporting the vitality of music communities across genres.
Rick can't get enough of radio! He presents Reggae programs Riddim Yard (PBS 106.7FM) and Island Music (ABC Radio) and his interviewing skills have taken across the world to the USA, Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the UK. He's spent the last five years as a documentary maker for ABC Radio National and is currently a teacher for the PBS announcer course.
Before registering please note that these workshops:
– are open to young people aged 12-25 at all levels of experience.
– will prioritise female, non-binary, trans, culturally and linguistically diverse, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, as well as young people from regional/remote Victoria.
– are open to CHANGES ticket holders only.
