Starring Kylie Auldist, Stella Angelico, Candice Monique, Chelsea Wilson, Rita Satch, Christina Perfection (The Perfections) May Johnston (Deep Street Soul) and Lisa Faithfull (Soul Safari), "Women of Soul" features ten exclusive new songs recorded in celebration of five years of the live performance series.

Backed by an all-star band featuring members of Melbourne funk bands such as The Putbacks and Cookin' on 3 Burners, the "Women of Soul" album is the biggest collaborative project in the history of the Melbourne soul scene.

Curated by Chelsea Wilson (Music Manager PBS 106.7FM/ Broadcaster 'Jazz Got Soul'/ Vocalist) and produced by award winning producer Jake Mason (Cookin' on 3 Burners) the album presents a range of genres including funk, neo, garage and northern reflective of the sound of Melbourne soul. The collaboration also includes album liner notes written by Brisbane based broadcaster Sarah Howells (Roots n All, triple j), images by Sydney based photographer Helen Melville and graphic design by Melbourne illustrator Kirrily Anderson aka iandtheothers.
The album release follows from the ladies debut single “Woman Got Soul” released on International Women’s Day to raise funds for the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria.

On Saturday April 11th Women of Soul will host a huge album launch party at The Shadow Electric to commemorate their fifth anniversary and perform the new tracks from the album plus original soul favourites. Special guest vocalists include Carla Troiano (Mayfield), Shae Mourtzakis and Jennifer Kingwell (PBS Glitter and Doom) plus PBS DJ’s Lyndelle Wilkinson (The Afterglow)and Miss Goldie (Boss Action).
