Studio 5 Live returns with Tiny Ruins. Founded in 2009 by singer-songwriter Hollie Fullbrook as a way to describe her solo outlet, Tiny Ruins has grown into a collaborative project inluding longtime tour-mates Cass Basil (Bass), Alex Freer (drums), and Tom Healy (electric guitar).
Releasing their third album Olympic Girls in February of this year, the band have taken an extensive tour across Europe, New Zealand and now to Australia. Produced by by bandmate and guitarist Tom Healy in the same underground lair (Paquin Studios at The Lab in Auckland) as their 2014 album Brightly Painted One, the band took over a year to finalise the record. It is the culmination of a flourish of spontaneity and experimentation and stridently reaches beyond Fullbrook's formerly minalist domain.
Tiny Ruins join us amid their Australian tour of Olympic Girls.
