by Powder Monkeys

Powder Monkeys were the real deal with a kick out the jams, take no prisoners rock ' n' roll attitude. Smashed on a Knee, their debut L.P. from 1993 which was originally released on the Dog Meat label, now see's a re-mastered c.d. version out via Freeform Patterns and Fuse. Fittingly this Australian rock classic is finally available again 20 years later and 10 years since the great and late Tim Hemensley died. It contains the original 9 track L.P. plus 3 bonus songs, which include '' I THANK YOU '' recorded at greville records mid 1993 for Lemon fanzine, ''Another Nite In Hell'' and Atomic Resolution '' recorded by Bo at phantom tollbooth as far back as 1992 when they were a 5 piece band.

The c.d. includes a 20 page booklet with photos, flyers and liner notes from Deniz Tek, Dave ' dog meat ' Laing, Mike Mariconda, Joel Silbersher, Dave Lang and John Nolan. The c.d. has been re-mastered by Mikey Young.

Along with Lemmy from Motorhead, Ian Rilen from X, Tim Hemensley was one of the best bass players and singers I saw live in Melbourne in the 80's and 90’s. John Nolan's guitar playing just shreds throughout and this re-mastered c.d. sounds very powerful still today. It’s like your back at the Great Britain hotel in Richmond watching the band live. This is an essential Australian rock classic! Those close to Tim miss the little bugger every day.
