by Pokey LaFarge

Pokey LaFarge and his band blend old time sounds of early jazz, country blues and western swing into an original sound. They hark back to the post war days of well dressed gents having some fun singing some tunes. Pokey is blessed with effortless charisma and distinctive charm and has crafted a genre all of his own. Hearing his music instantly brings a smile to the face of the listener.

Pokey hooked up with Jack White recently and White recorded Pokey and his band for his live recording series on Third Man ('Chitlin Cookin’ in 2011). This lead to Pokey signing with the label. The new album, simply called Pokey LaFarge was produced by Old Crow Medicine Show frontman Ketch Secor (who also plays on the album).

Pokey appeared recently on the Letterman show and was also featured in a Daytrotter session. It appears anytime is the right time for Pokey’s sun-blessed riverboat style.
