George Eliot tells us that life seems to go on without effort when she is filled with music. It is in this spirit that we reflect on some of our favourite albums from 2019. Here you will find music that is genuinely uplifting, even if it appears wistful in the beginning. And you will often find that beneath the groovy, edgy darkness of these songs is a complex poeticism that shows how this music engenders a sense of hope. And we hope, as we always do, that this rich music fills you with joy and makes your life seem effortless.
