by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard

The word prolific doesn't even come close to describing the output of local group King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Since appearing on the scene in about 2011, they've released three LPs including last year’s Spaghetti Western-inspired Eyes Like the Sky and the triumphant Float Along – Fill Your Lungs. Well, they're just about to release a fourth full-length record LP, a mere six months after the last one! This one – Oddments – was previewed via the single Vegemite which is largely a novelty song so I wasn't sure which direction the album would head in but it's much, much more! From the opening instrumental Alluda Majaka through the psych chill out of Work This Time to the rockin' drive of Hot Wax, it's a rather eclectic and enjoyable collection! They might be prolific but when they keep on releasing high quality albums like this one, I cannot complain.
