With the success of last year’s FReeZACentral compilation, Naked In The Woods, the concept returns for series two and will be launched at the East Brunswick Club on September 1.

The launch of Naked in the Woods 2 brings together Aussie music legends Deborah Conway & Willy Zygier, local band The Little Stevies, playing their final farewell before heading to the US to record their sophomore album, Jess McAvoy who recently returned from an OS tour, young emerging solo artists gigging on the local scene - Courtney Barnett and Yelka, plus Geelong teen Izzy.

As well as featuring tracks from the aforementioned artists, Naked in the Woods 2, features a line up of established and emerging female artists involved in the 2010 FReeZACentral Mentoring Program including Angie Hart, Clare Bowditch, Jess Harlen, Monique Brumby, Gracie Hester, Jessie Upton, M.C.K. and Tyla Bertolli.

FReeZACentral, part of Victoria Rocks, a Victorian Government initiative, managed by The Push and Mushroom Marketing helps budding young artists and industry professionals kick start their music careers. FReeZACentral annually pairs 50 young Victorians with their dream mentors across five streams including performance, technical production, event management, music business and marketing and publicity.

2010 FReeZACentral mentor Sibylla Stephen from The Little Stevies says: “This is my first experience as a mentor in the FReeZACentral program and I have enjoyed it immensely. I have gained confidence in what I do and realised I know some stuff that is useful to others! My mentee Courtney (Barnett) is a wonderful emerging artist who I've learnt a lot from. The experience has reminded me that it can be scary entering the music industry, working on your career, and making decisions about what you want to do while you're still trying to figure out what it all means. The NITW launch will be a great celebration for the mentees and mentors involved in the program and an excellent opportunity to hear some amazing artists.”

Stephen’s mentee Courtney Barnett says the Mentoring Program has been a massive learning experience: “Being encouraged by an already established artist like Sibylla has been really valuable for my confidence and motivation as an artist. I’ve learnt heaps. We’ve shared opinions and stories and built a rapport that will last beyond our mentoring relationship. I’m really looking forward to playing at the East Brunswick and to have the opportunity to play in front of my peers and all the program’s mentors.”
