Mt. Mountain are a revelation.

Formed in mid-2012 and a year later, they’d already put out their first release – the slow, brooding four-track demo OMED. In mid-2014, they followed up with their first EP, as well as the 7-inch, Chantry / The Villain, a few months later. In that same year, they played In the Pines and were crowned the 2014 Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the WAMi Awards .

In 2016, Mt. Mountain release their first full-length album, COSMOS TERROS. Over 18 months in the making, the six songs on Cosmos Terros represent the clearest realisation of the band’s expansive sounds – menacing, meditative and utterly entrancing.

Early 2017 brings the release of the bands second full-length album Dust - Recorded early 2016 at Studio Sleepwalker’s Dread with Ron Pollard (Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, Drowning Horse, Skullcave), Dust weighs in at 38 minutes across four tracks – the kind of sprawling, grand yet measured release that’s just as fit for the record collection of a yogi as it is for a deadhead.

As captivating as they are on record, Mt. Mountain bring with them an utterly mesmerising live show. Though the five players on stage may seem unassuming, their command of sound – especially in unity. Over the last five years, the Perth quintet have built a formidable reputation – not just for their masterful songcraft, but as one of the most compelling live bands in Perth – a distinction which has seen them share stages with myriad Australian and international heavyweights including Sleep, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Boris.
