Community organisation Local Impact (formerly the Inner West Community Foundation) is currently hosting a Christmas donations drive. Based at their Community Bike Hub in Footscray, the organisation offers a range of services including bike repairs, education programs and bike part recycling.
They are currently seeking old or unused bikes that will be refurbished and gifted to asylum seekers, refugees and other folks without access to the joy and independence of cycling. For any bikes that are donated but can't be redistributed, they will recycle the parts as part of their volunteer and education programs.
