21 June 1975 and KISS record their outrageous live performance in Cleveland Ohio, a recording that was to form the basis of the most celebrated live album in the history of rock n roll, ‘KISS ALIVE’. And some forty years later on Saturday 27 June The Yarraville Club celebrates this auspicious rock occasion with a one-off performance from a one-off band paying homage to Peter, Paul, Ace and Gene: KISS!

Brought together by musical director and revered Australian musician Ashley Naylor (Even, Paul Kelly band) is a one-off supergroup of Melbourne talent named COLD GIN featuring Naylor, Marc Welsh (ex-Have A Nice Day, now Welshie), Brett Wolfenden (Davey Lane Band) and Jim Coelli (Sheriff) with special guest singers Pat Carmody (My Dynamite), Kat Spazzy (The Spazzys), Tommy Boyce (The Casanovas), Gemma Sharard (Skyscraper Stan and The Commission Flats), Marc Welsh and Ashley Naylor. Great original musicians in their own right and, one and all, complete KISS tragics busting to recreate ‘KISS ALIVE’ track-for-track with a special extended encore of more KISS favourites at Yarraville Live.

Guitar World magazine rates KISS ALIVE as #26 in the 100 Greatest Guitar Albums of all time. Peaking at #9 on the American Billboard Charts, this incredible KISS-krieg of a double-album charted for a record 110 weeks.

Yarraville Live promoter and Cherry Bar owner James Young reflects, “Cherry picking the best tracks from their first three albums ‘KISS’, ‘Hotter Than Hell’ and ‘Dressed To Kill’ the ‘KISS ALIVE’ album features incendiary live versions of ‘Deuce’, ‘Strutter’, ‘Black Diamond’, ‘Cold Gin’ and of course ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’. And features some of the best guitar licks from Ace Frehley and showman banter from Paul Stanley ever put to vinyl. What a pleasure to be honouring the 40th anniversary of this true classic album in Melbourne with Melbourne’s best musicians, singers and KISS fans.”
