Sounds Out There, Sounds In Here…
co-presented by Artplay
Tapping, rubbing and singing into everything around to find exciting sounds.

The world is an adventure of instruments just waiting to be discovered. Sound artists Alice and Nigel will encourage tapping, rubbing and singing into everything around to find exciting sounds.

Our budding musicians will go on an adventure of audio discovery, showing creative ways to make and manipulate a range of sounds. Mum and Dad might even get to make some funny noises, too.

Sound Worlds
co-presented by Artplay
Turn your voice into a rainstorm, or a butterfly’s footsteps.

Awaken the hidden sounds in daily objects...they’re just waiting to spring out with a little encouragement so rub, knock, bump and drop to get them started.

Nigel and Rosalind will get small hands and feet experimenting with a host of music making objects. Kids will even discover the noises hidden within them – turning their voice into a rainstorm, or a butterfly’s footsteps.

Ages 4 - 5 years.
Bookings essential.

Club Kids
A special daytime dance party for the whole family.
Co-presented with Two Bright Lakes and No Lights No Lycra

In this special family daytime event, Club Kids brings the 90s New York party scene right into the heart of MMW, spangling their way into The Residence for an afternoon of fluoro lights, dance floor revelry, space poppin’ music and general good-times for all.

Headlining the afternoon’s musical offerings, Oscar Keysung is an artist whose stocks have been on the rise this year. Following his success as one-half of indie dream duo Oscar + Martin, Keysung’s refreshingly spacious and buoyant solo performances, backed up with sumptuous vocals, have received international acclaim. Described as a throwback to the days of classic R’nB heart-on-sleeve frontmen, the artist has recently broken some serious international ground, thanks to high-profile support slots for St Vincent, Four Tet, Metronomy and Gotye, along with his recent work alongside Ghostpoet and MeLo-X.

With the help of Melbourne’s favourite dark-dance-divas No Lights, No Lycra, a horde of DJs from the Two Bright Lakes stable, and with ArtPlay presenting fun activities for the little ones, this daytime rave will get the whole family on the floor.
