by Perch Creek Family Jugband

Although the Perch Creek Family Jugband originated on the North Coast area of NSW (in funnily enough, Perch Creek) they've been on the Melbourne music scene for several years now and have firmly established themselves. Consisting of five members, with four of them happening to be siblings, their brand of country and jug band music has developed a bit more fully on their second album, Jumping On The Highwire. There's still some really fun songs you can dance a hoedown to such as the album opener, Party On The Farm as well as Bitchin' Betty Lou. However, there's some extra mood to tunes such as The Great Unknown and Something In The Valley which add extra depth to the album as a whole. The sense of fun and party that you get from their wonderfully energetic live shows has transferred nicely to their second album and I reckon they're on the verge of something bigger. Watch this space!!
