by Low
Slow, quiet, haunting, eerie. These are all very apt words to describe the music of ‘Low’. Since 1993, music fans have been mesmerized by their creative blend of moodiness and space. A sound that might leave one a bit uneasy at first before discovering the underlying beauty to their music. Their latest release, ‘The Invisible Way’ (their 10th full length album) brings their beauty more to the forefront. Songs like Amethyst, So Blue and Clarence White show this in spades. Produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy at their studio ‘The Loft’, the album’s sound is full of space and clarity. The album is also defined by drummer Mimi Parker singing lead on 5 of the 11 tracks, the most she’s contributed on an album before. All in all, a beautiful album that’s worth more than the casual listen.
