Fred & Toody Cole from legendary Portland group Dead Moon will play one Melbourne show after their Meredith performance in December.
For those who are new, Fred & Toody are the epitome of D.I.Y., a rock and roll love story in mono with a canon of unforgettable songs and tales that defy description.
Now a duo, grandparents of four, legends, lifers and lovers, Fred and Toody Cole keep on rocking without a drummer in their stripped down but no less intense duo, Fred and Toody.
This time, their shows will be of a semi-acoustic nature (at least on paper, we’re not sure if they know how to play quietly) dipping into Fred's 50+ year career. You can expect to hear tunes from his groups from the ‘60s onwards, including The Weeds, The Lollipop Shoppe, Zipper, The Rats, Dead Moon and more recently, The Pierced Arrows. Reports of their recent performance from this year’s Gonerfest indicate they are unmissable.
Listen back to Mixing Up The Medicine on Tuesday 13 December for a live set from Fred & Toody Cole (Dead Moon). Studio 5 Live is proudly brought to you by PBS.
