What is an angel? Dictionary definitions range from a spiritual being, a guardian spirit, a person who is kind, pure, or beautiful, to a term of endearment or even simply a name or nickname. In the world of film, all of these are explored in a variety of ways. A versatile term which in its many forms has been called upon time and again since the early days of cinema. For 2024, Eaglehawk Film Festival have put together a selection of films from all over the world that explore angels in all their guises via a range of genres from 1937 right up to 2018.
